Use this decision-making technique with Big Idea Pads to assess the relative goodness of competing option choices against a set of pre-determined measurement criteria. The Options Evaluation Matrix technique creates column headings, which represent the important measurement variables, and then asks the group to evaluate each option, positioned as a matrix row heading, against each of several distinct measurement variables. . At the intersection of each option and measurement variable, the group is asked, for example, to assign a qualitative measure of, for example, either Good (Green sheet), Fair (Yellow sheet) or Poor (Red sheet). The most Good scores usually win.
